- First and most importantly, REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
- We are having a pop-up zine library and art show at the Fridge in D.C. on May 25th. If you are interested in participating, please email JB at firstname.lastname@example.org with a high resolution jpeg of your art submission or for instructions on mailing zines. Zine/comics/DIY-culture related work is preferred–even a laid out zine page would be a cool submission. More information to come on the actual event!
- We are having a zine reading on April 28th at 7 pm as part of a fundraiser movie night for DC Doulas for Choice! First enjoy readings from the epic authors of epic zines Moonroot: An Exploration of Asian Womyn’s Bodies (Baltimore) and Deafula (Philly), ” a zine about a girl and her deafness.” Then have the time of your life with the film Dirty Dancing. $5 cover, bring money for cheap snacks and beers. At the Rocketship, 1223 Decatur Street NW. “Bonus points for dressing like characters from the movie! Think cuffed jean shorts, canvas tennis shoes, dance attire and dresses with full skirts that will twirl when you dance.” RSVP on Facebook.
The last (or is it?) film in our apocalyptic film series is Times Square, on Sunday, May 13th at 7 pm. For anyone who loves punk music, Tim Curry, girl gangs, pre-Disneyfication New York, and subtle lesbian overtones. Also I hear D.C. Zinefest Apocalyptic Film Series does the snacks up right.CANCELLED FOR THE TIME BEING, STAY TUNED!
